Artistically, the game has done as much as possible to invoke the theme within the restrictions of components and price. The penguins humorously encapsulate the name: one sculpt has an armful of fish; another is furious that he doesn’t have any. The artwork on the ice floes is nice, although it doesn’t vary past the three different types of fish. Mechanically, the game fits the theme very well: the penguins “slide” to other spaces, and as the board disappears you really feel like it is a race to get the last of those few fish. It really feels like you’re in a cartoon about penguins, except that it’s a cartoon for adults because the penguins are foul-language-inducing jerks.
